Review - The Pajama Game (from Scene South, Southern Daily Echo, 16/11/07)

Romance is in the air when Sid, the new supervisor at the Sleep Tite' Pajama Factory, falls for shop steward Babe. If you don't know the show, you will surely be familiar with the music as it features Hernando's Hideaway, Once a Year Day and Hey There, along with a feast of other familiar melodies.

A lively and fun production directed by Suzanne Hall, thoroughly entertained the audience with strong singing and energetic movement throughout. The company numbers were particularly well rehearsed and effective. At times the choreography was a little too frenzied, making singing difficult for those involved.

Unfortunately there were also some technical problems with sound and the lighting was disappointing.

There were good performances by all, but Adrian Hickford (Hines) stood out with excellent comic timing and a powerful stage presence. Catherine Graham-Evans (Babe) sang and danced well and Matthew Laxton was convincing as Sid.
