Welcome to WOS

We pride ourselves on being a friendly and lively group who enjoy working with others of similar interests in staging Light Opera, Musicals and Operatic productions with many social activities that take place during the year.

To take an acting part, applicants need to attend an audition, which takes place before each production. These auditions are advertised in the local press as well as the "WOS Gazette" and on this website. We usually perform two productions each year, one in the Spring, and the other in the Autumn. Rehearsals take place at 7.45pm on Mondays and Wednesdays at Western School, Browning Drive (map). Not all the cast is called for each rehearsal. Productions run for one week.

We also run a Junior Group 'ENCORE' for children from the age of 12 to 18 who stage one production each year during the Spring half term. The group runs on similar lines to the Senior group and an annual audition is required to become an acting member. Rehearsals for the Junior group normally take place on Sunday afternoons.
